 DORAS
PLATFORM
(artist member)

Platform Doras is a feminist art group composed of nine female artists from different fields. It was founded in 2018, and through an interdisciplinary approach to art, we create performances, theater scenes, collaborative artistic events, and workshops. We also participate in audiovisual works as performers and co-creators, for instance, in the short film “Ela viu aranhas”, directed by Larissa Muniz. It was exhibited in several film festivals.

In 2018, the Doras Platform created the theater play BRASA (in English, "
EMBER"). It is a polyphonic, political, poetical, and imagery proposal, it is a representation of a bonfire composed of 12 women. Overall, it has been created by 21 women playing different production or artistic roles. This piece is composed of dances, chants, actions, speeches, and sonorous landscapes guided by the image of the fire. BRASA is a strong, collective, and incandescent blaze. An impetuous movement of resistance, empowerment, existence, and freedom. It won one of the best performances in the 19th Festival of Galpão Cine Horto to the Audience’s Choice. This play also was presented in some Theaters in the city of Belo Horizonte (Brazil).

Synopsis of BRASA:

A diversity of women dance to their passions, explode in pleasure, sing with the flames, and embody the burning spark that would once burn them. Inventing fire and bewitchment in a place where it would be possible to be free, in this land called Brazil.
